Practical Matters
What I Can Do:
MANUSCRIPT DEVELOPMENT AND WRITING: Original manuscripts developed and written from ideas, drafts, notes, research materials, etc.
MANUSCRIPT EVALUATION AND PREPARATION: Manuscripts and addresses evaluated prior to submission for publication. Revision, or help with revision, as requested.
SUBSTANTIVE EDITING, REVISING, AND REWRITING: Completed manuscripts reworked, reorganized, and rethought to bring them into conformity with journal requirements, or to improve clarity, substance, or style.
ABSTRACTING/ABRIDGING: Completed manuscripts summarized or shortened for journal publication, book chapters, grant proposals, etc.
TEACHING: Instruction in academic writing, and in the skills to meet its demands with confidence and increasing independence.
RESEARCH: I will do bibliographic and in some cases substantive research work. Archival materials OK.

REFERENCES: available on request; also see My Work.
FEES: established on consultation. Base rates per hour: editing, evaluation, abstracting $115; instruction $115. Writing and development $175 and up. Large jobs discounted; sliding scale available in some cases. Send manuscript for estimate—no obligation. Small and large pieces OK.writing and development $175 and up.
MANUSCRIPTS: accepted by mail, fax, or e-mail; in most word processor formats; on paper or on disk.
